Rambo Road Trip Weekend

“They drew first blood, not me”… with those words, an iconic movie was born. October 22, 2023 marks 41 years since the release of beloved action movie, Rambo: First Blood, filmed right here in Hope. First Blood tells the tale of Vietnam War veteran John Rambo who finds himself at odds with local law enforcement in the fictional own of Hope, Washington. With a gripping storyline and powerful action sequences, the film has an enduring fanbase and lasting legacy which Hope is proud to be a part of! We invite you to take a Rambo Road Trip this coming weekend, October 20 – 22nd, and visit us in Hope as we celebrate all things Rambo. From visiting film locations on a guided tour, to watching the classic film on a big screen; devouring a colossal Rambo burger to shopping for Rambo merch, you’ll find plenty of ways to join in the fun!

First Blood Screenings at Hope Cinema

Every evening during the filming of First Blood, Stallone and other crew members would review dailies right in our local cinema. And this October, you can sit in the very same theatre and watch Rambo’s first movie adventure in the best way possible! The Hope Cinema will be playing First Blood several times through Rambo Days and it’s a screening that fans won’t want to miss! Trust us, it’s way better on the big screen! See the showtimes below:

Guided Walking Tour

Our resident Rambo First Blood expert, Brian McKinney, will be taking fans on his famous First Blood walking tour around Hope! On this shortened version of the tour, you will see the exact location of famous movie moments, many of which look nearly the exact same as they did over 40 years ago! You will also be treated to Brian’s first-hand accounts of what it was like to be here in Hope for the filming of First Blood, including behind-the-scenes stories and more! See the First Blood Motorcycle

This iconic motorcycle will be on display at the VC for one day only! Make sure you stop by to see it up close and get a photo with it! See below for details of where and when it will be available for viewing:
