KAWKAWA LAKE

Right in the heart of Hope lies the charming Kawkawa Lake. Though small, it’s incredibly picturesque and boasts a welcoming public beach complete with washrooms and a playground—ideal for a family day out. Its traditional Sto:lo name, Q’áwq’ewem, meaning “home of loons,” hints at the mystical tales of two loons, Q’ewq’weelacha and Q’ewq’ewelot, who once graced these waters.
