Hope, BC – Our Home Town Takeover Journey

A community with heart. A story worth telling. A town ready for transformation.

🏡 Hope, BC Has Officially Submitted to HGTV’s Home Town Takeover Canada

Hope, BC is excited and incredibly proud to announce that our official submission has been sent to HGTV’s Home Town Takeover Canada — an opportunity that could bring a once-in-a-generation revitalization to our community.

If selected, Hope would receive a community-wide transformation touching:

  • Local homes and heritage buildings
  • Small businesses and storefronts
  • Public gathering spaces and parks
  • Cultural and tourism areas
  • The heart and soul of our community

This is more than an application.
It’s a message to Canada that Hope is ready. Hope is united. Hope is full of potential.

Below this video came together in just three hours — from filming to final edit. With no required submission form or formal decline notice yet in place, we didn’t want to risk missing our moment.

So AdvantageHope gathered footage, and stitched everything together the very same day.

While a video wasn’t mandatory for the HGTV application, we felt it was important to include one. A video captures Hope’s perspective in a way photos simply can’t — and we wanted to show the heart of Hope exactly as it is.

Our Application Journey: A Fall Season Filled With Stories, Photos, and Hope

Throughout Fall 2025, AdvantageHOPE invited the entire community to contribute to our application. The response was overwhelming — authentic stories, heartfelt messages, and stunning visuals capturing the spirit of Hope poured in from every corner of our town.

Our team gathered:

  • Community stories & personal testimonials
  • Heritage site photos & revitalization concepts
  • Local business features & storefront potential
  • Historical archives & town transformation ideas
  • Videos, drone shots, and candid community moments

Hope’s history, charm, and small-town pride were front and center.
This was not a submission made by an organization.
It was made by the people of Hope — together.

Our Sunday Community Event – When Hope United

Sunday, November 23, 2025 — A Day We Will Never Forget

In just three days, word spread about a massive community gathering planned for our final video submission. What happened next was nothing short of extraordinary.

Hundreds Arrived — All Ages, All Backgrounds, One Purpose

One hour prior to the video recording, people began arriving at Memorial Park — families, seniors, business owners, students, children with painted signs, and long-time residents who remember Hope’s earliest days.

By noon, the park was buzzing with energy. Local musicians played softly in the background. Kids ran around with poster boards larger than themselves. Balloons bobbed in the wind. Hand-painted messages filled the park:

  • “Hope is Ready!”
  • “HGTV Come to Hope.”
  • “Hope Our Home.”
  • “Hope welcomes HGTV.”

The creativity was unbelievable — glittered signs, wood-burned plaques, handmade banners, and posters.

How the News Spread in Just Three Days

It began with a small social post.
Then came shares… conversations… text messages… locals stopping each other on Wallace Street… business owners taping flyers to their windows… and neighbours knocking on doors.

In 72 hours, the message reached nearly every household in Hope.

Youth, Elders & Everyone In Between

  • Youth from Spirit of the Hope Secondary (SOHSS)
  • Parents brought their families as a moment of legacy
  • Local businesses donated materials, snacks, and hot drinks
  • AdvantageHope & Volunteers coordinated filming, crowd directions, and sign placements

It Was More Than an Event — It Was a Movement.

People weren’t just showing up for a TV program.
They were showing up because they believe in Hope.

Why This Matters

A Message Bigger Than the Application

Hope is more than a town — it’s a community woven from resilience, kindness, and collective strength.

This submission symbolizes:

  • A united vision for revitalization
  • A belief in the potential of our small businesses
  • A desire to preserve our history
  • A commitment to creating spaces the next generation will be proud of

The Home Town Takeover effort brought out the very best of Hope.
It showed what is possible when everyone comes together.

And the best part?

This energy doesn’t end with the submission.
It is fueling ideas, collaborations, and inspiration across the community.
