Sucker's Creek
Sucker’s Creek in Hope, BC is not only a fantastic place to watch spawning salmon, it is also a great place to take your kids for a swim away from the large crowds you will likely find at Kawkawa Lake. During the hot summer days, Sucker’s Creek offers a nice swimming hole with comfortable water temperatures, and if you stick around late enough in the day, you may have the whole area to yourself. The best time of the year to visit Sucker’s creek for swimming is mid-late summer. By this time the Coquihalla River will be lower and reveal a nice sandbar where you can comfortably relax. The water will be warm due to the shallow water and hot weather. If you visit earlier in the spring or summer, the water will still be high, a bit cooler and you’ll have to find a comfortable spot on the rocky shore.
