HISTORY
HISTORIC ALEXANDRA BRIDGE
Spuzzum, BC
As part of the original Cariboo Wagon Road, this bridge was built in 1863 to span the Fraser River and stood until flooding destroyed the bridge deck in 1894. With the dawn of the automotive era, the new Cariboo Highway opened and a new bridge was constructed in 1926, using the original 1863 footings. Closed to auto traffic in 1964, the bridge was opened to foot traffic in 1984 as part of the Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park. This is a scenic spot for a rest stop, picnic, and scenic walk down to this grand old bridge.
YALE HISTORIC SITE

Travel back in time to experience what life was like over 200 years ago at this fascinating site filled with seemingly endless artifacts! Head outside to try gold panning, explore the canvas tents that recreate a gold rush saloon, general store, and more. And visit St. John the Divine, one of the oldest churches in British Columbia.
FRANCIS HARRINGTON PARK
Boston Bar Station Road & Trans-Canada Highway, Boston Bar.
This park features the aerial tram that was used to cross the Fraser River – carrying one car and its passengers at a time – and connect the villages of Boston Bar and North Bend. The tram was operational from 1940 until a bridge was built connecting the communities in 1985. Interpretive signage tells the story of the tram and history of the area, filled with photos and memories from the towns’ elders, with paintings on the back by Rick Campbell.
