HISTORIC ALEXANDRA BRIDGE

With the dawn of the automotive era, the new Cariboo Highway opened and a new bridge was constructed in 1926, using the original 1863 footings. Closed to auto traffic in 1964, the bridge was opened to foot traffic in 1984 as part of the Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park. This is a scenic spot for a rest stop, picnic, and scenic walk down to this grand old bridge.
